1. Principle

Y- strainer is an indispensable filtering device in the pipeline system that transports fluid medium. Y-type filter is usually installed in the pressure reducing valve, pressure relief valve, shut-off valve (such as the inlet end of the indoor heating pipeline) or the inlet end of other equipment, used to remove impurities in the medium, to protect the normal valve and equipment use. The Y-type filter has advanced structure, low resistance and convenient drainage.


Y- strainer is mainly composed of take-over pipe, main pipe, filter screen, flange, flange cover and fasteners. When the liquid enters the filter basket through the main pipe, the solid impurity particles are blocked in the filter blue, and the clean fluid passes through the filter basket and is discharged from the filter outlet. The reason why the filter is made into a cylindrical filter basket shape is to increase its strength, which is stronger than a single layer of mesh, and the flange cover at the lower end of the y-shaped interface can be unscrewed to regularly remove the particulate impurities deposited in the filter basket. .


 

2. Installation

Before installing the filter, carefully clean the threaded connection surfaces of all pipes, and use a suitable amount of pipe sealant or Teflon tape (polytetrafluoroethylene). The end threads are not treated to prevent sealant or Teflon tape from entering the piping system. The filter can be installed horizontally or vertically downward.
